MADE BY MAC:  art created by Tina & Tim McIntire
In 2005 MAC artist/founder Tina
McIntire was selected to be on HG
TV's Crafters Coast To Coast. On
Crafters Coast To Coast Tina showed
step by step how she creates her
highly sought after mosaic art.

Tina's  art also appears in various
publications such as Country Living
magazine and The Dallas Morning
News to list a few.
Her art along with her brother Tim her
3 sisters is also featured in an award
winning movie, (World Without
Waves.) Tim created the Starry Night
rendition, while Tina contributed the
rest of the windows and doors. The
McIntire sisters contributed various
smaller mosaics such as vases and
candle holders.
Their art without a doubt has a
significant impact on this already
brilliant film.

Tina and Tim have been working with mosaics since the early 90's, Well before the stained glass and
tile mosaic craze swept the land. "When we first started selling mosaic art there wasn't any  pre made
mosaics in the craft stores. A few years later we started seeing candleholders and storm lamps
everywhere!"
It really took a while for mosaics to catch on as a craft. There was no how-to  info on
creating mosaics. We just had learn to by trial and error. The first glue I used has literally destroyed
my first  few years worth of art. It seemed to work fine, and was supposed to be a glass glue. Within a
few years the glue had lost its adhesive element and turned milky white..... The glass literally popped
off falling off of the windows in a slow erosive manner."

Their mosaic art, Tina's in particular has been a big influence in the art side of mosaics. Tina' s  glass
window mosaics were the first I had ever seen. Outside of us it took probably 7 years for us to see
another window mosaiced by stained glass. The predominant use of beads and bobbles to create
mandalas. That is another brainchild of Tina.  As far as I know, she was the first to do this."  We never
could find a glue that satisfied us. That is the reason there is MAC glue today. It was created out of
necessity.
